With a goal of using animation to punctuate the narrative for their NHL 21 official trailer, EA SPORTS collaborated with leftchannel to highlight the story of their cover athlete, Alexander “The Great Eight” Ovechkin. Using hand drawn animation, we were able to augment the story, told by mostly game play footage, using artistry to add an emotional tone.
